Automatic coop doors sometimes fail—and predators can wipe out a flock overnight. Mother Hen™ monitors both the chicken door and the human access door, and alerts you instantly when something’s wrong.

How it works

Coop Controller

A weather-resistant unit in your coop. Detects door status, flashes red if there’s a problem, and connects via Wi-Fi (or optional cellular) for alerts.

The Egg (indoor indicator)

A small Wi-Fi light and buzzer for your home. Green by day, blue by night, flashing red with a squawk if there’s trouble. Up to 16 Eggs per coop.

Mini-Egg (coop light)

A coop-mounted status light that mirrors The Egg. Powered by the Controller.

Mobile app

Free iOS/Android app for setup and monitoring. See door status in real time, customize alerts, and review history.

What Mother Hen doesn’t do

• Does not open or close your doors—it monitors them.
• Requires your power source (battery, solar, or AC).
• The Egg is for indoor use only.

Reliability built in

• Alerts continue even if Wi-Fi fails (local lights/buzzer + SMS).
• Detects power resets, blocked or jammed doors, and bad timer settings.
